Information for Electrical Apprentices and Helpers

Welcome to the Apprentices/Helpers page. If you are already attending classes or want to start a career in the electrical field this is the place to see what the Electrical Team has to offer you.  The finest electrical workers in the country receive their training through the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). It's a model education partnership which produces the best-trained, most up-to-date electrical apprentices and journeymen in the country. All of the $100 million annually spent is privately funded. On this page you will find links to information explaining what an apprenticeship is all about and how and where to applying for apprenticeship. Some of what the Electrical Team can provide apprentices.

  • We offer a placement test for transferring apprentices to give credit for past training.
  • We offer one of the highest quality apprenticeship programs in the nation.
  • We offer work assignments with local contractors provided by the JATC to allow you to earn while you learn.
  • We offer a new state of the art training facility devoted only to training electricians.
  • We offer Health Insurance for you and your family provided at no cost to you.

If you are new to the electrical trade we have a classification for you as well. Our Construction Wireman class is for people just starting their careers. The Construction Wiremen pay rates start at $10.78 and has 4 levels of pay up to $17.79. This is the perfect job for workers who are trying out the trade before they enter into a formal apprenticeship or for workers not interested in attending a formal class.

If any of the above sounds good to you take a few minutes to look at the attached links and contact either the Richmond Electricians Apprenticeship or IBEW Local 666.
